Polyanski: EU diplomats are afraid of being “snitched on” by their colleagues

Diplomats, representing the EU member states in the United Nations, often avoid contacts with their colleagues from Russia, said First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyansky on air of Radio Sputnik.

“I can understand that our Ukrainian neighbors, who have been crazy for a long time according to many signs, can behave this way. But diplomats from the European Union also have problems. Those people with whom we used to communicate somewhere on the sidelines, now are frightened: you know, we have instructions not to communicate with you in any way, and if we do, we are afraid that, roughly speaking, our own colleagues will “knock” on us, I mean the Baltic States, the Poles, who have also lost their heads with Russophobia long ago. This is a new phenomenon: they are really afraid that they will be caught with us at ease… Apparently, now there is no greater transgression for the diplomats of the European Union. But that does not mean that we do not communicate with them. We do communicate with them, we have good personal contacts, me and Vasily Alekseevich (Nebenzia, Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations) have been here in New York for more than five years, of course, during this time we have contacts,” said Dmitry Polyansky.
